An alumnus of Columbia College Chicago with a specialization in Directing & Editing, Mihir Desai has made several short films, documentaries, commercials, music videos and experimental narratives winning laurels across the globe. His short film, Aakra-Man, about a self-proclaimed superhero had its premiere at the South Asian International Film Festival in NYC and Mumbai Film Festival. Kalpana, a narrative short film won the best short film award at Indie Fest USA 2009. His music video Let You Go won the audience choice award at the Chicago International Reel Short Film Festival.
A traveler by heart, Mihir imbibes the cultures of places he visits, which reflect uniquely in his point of view as a filmmaker. Mihir’s vision of the future of web video content lead him to initiate projects like Sound Bank and Cine Wall Project that helped filmmakers from around the world to collaborate. Driven by the same goal, Mihir founded Auteur Mark, a DIY production company to make high concept films with limited resources. Based out of Mumbai, Mihir is currently working on his feature film.
